Synopsis
Danny Marsh has a plan for the summer, and the plan is to have a great summer. His son Wes, eight and unconvinced, would prefer a plan with dates. Fresh off a divorce and finally living openly, Danny fills the weeks with canoes, airboats, bad karaoke, and a running commentary he believes is comedy. Wes, meanwhile, is quietly collecting evidence: the way his dad goes silent at gas stations, the phone calls taken outside, the dates that get cancelled by text. When a hospital visit interrupts the tour, both of them are forced to say the things they've been performing around. My Gay Dad is a warm, wide-open comedy about a father who is finally telling the truth and a kid who has been paying attention the whole time.
